Hi guys, I know I don't post very regularly on SB, I'm a bit of a lurker these last few years. I think that's mainly because everyone is so knowledgeable, and I'm just learning. But I do love it. It's the only toy forum I read. My previous sculpture, bit further down in this forum, maybe wasn't quite right for SB. Doesn't really have that guy in a suit feel perhaps... So I thought I'd share the latest attempt with you. My day job is a toy inventor for a small invention house in London, but that's all springs, hinges and mechanisms. Sculpting is very new to me, but I'm really enjoying it. Hours can just disappear! So this character is based on a drawing I did a while ago, a kind of benign shepherd man. A change from the sketch is that none of my sculpts are going to have arms. They've evolved to use their thoughts to control everything, so have no need for them. The Shepherd causes people to have nightmares, which his bird flock (the Flinch in my previous post) feast upon. Here's where I've got to so far. Not finished yet, I'm not happy with the horns yet... and not sure how I want to do the neck area... plenty of tweaking to do! Current plan is casting it in two parts. Thanks! Paddy
I like how you are creating a whole world with your sculpts and characters. This new guy is also fascinating. Keep at it!
Thankyou Appreciate your kind words! I'm enjoying learning how to sculpt. Here's my latest work in progress... These mind crabs float a few inches above the sand looking for stray thoughts to scavenge on.
Raw Shark Text sounds interesting, haven't read it. I think I've been reading too much Lovecraft recently!
