i have other birthday plans earlier in the day, so i will meet up with you guys at the event proper. sorry i'll miss out on sharing a meal!
you're just a busy little social butterfly, aren't you? =p ... and yay! 100th post! now maybe people will take me seriously around here... HA!
Wish I could join you guys, sounds like it will be loads of fun Like I said before, I want to see pictures! Hopefully Steve will beat those scores at the event! lol, yay! my 100th post as well
^^ That's funny Bill, I thought I was pretty slow with the posting too lol.. But, when did you actually start posting? You told me that you lurked around for a few years, and then eventually started posting.. ?
well, considering almost half my posts are here in paradise garage, and the fact we're SO active as a group... (lol)... i figure almost five months is a good stretch. i have no idea why it's taken v so long... =p
Well, me personally, I am still learning a lot when it comes to Kaiju vinyl toys, and even though I would love to join in on some of these interesting discussions on some of the toys, I don't know enough to say much about it at the moment... At this point in time, I read the posts a lot more and chime in once in a while when I feel comfortable enough with the subject at hand.. But, as the time goes by, I'll learn more and will eventually post more.. Unless it's useless banter, that I can keep up with...
what? that was a long time, just to get to 870000+. he was one life down and at a quarter of a million when i left, and that was right at 5 o'clock...
It didn't go to hot when we left he only had one life left at 5:30. I checked Twin Galaxies and of course they didn't have it posted, but you think Logan Hardware would have posted it! So I'm guessing no records were set Thanks to everyone coming out, Cuban was awesome, and I always look forward to the next get together, it'll be here before you know it.
^ Woah that looks both very tastey and a little intimidating.. Is that a fried plantain cheeseburger? Man have I missed out.. I need to make it a mission to go to that restaurant at some point.
I want to know if Steve Wiebe slammed a toilet seat before each attempt. I hope I didn't reveal one of his secrets by posting this.
THAT, virginia, is the guajirito, very similar to a jibarito... marinated steak served on fried plantains... so damn tasty. (it's what i had as well!) this tasty concoction is being modeled by the always delightful jeff, who now that you mention it, does appear to have very nicely cared for hands... hmm... =p
It's all the alcohol based cleaner I drown them in at the hospital that keeps them that way. I also scrape off my finger prints but I won't mention why (and for those present at lunch forget about the children's socks I had in my pocket!) I only ate an orange the rest of the day, that thing did me in for 9 more hours.
I'm not too familiar with the jibarito, but that guajirito is mighty filling and super tastey looking that's for sure!
these photos were taken at the beginning of the 2nd attempt. he took a solid hour to recover after the 1st, and the place completely cleared out. that's why i was able to get up to the cordoned off area to get a clear photo. quite a few game bloggers and local newspaper folks milled around the area, discussing their next career move then a small crowd formed just minutes before he sat down again. during the break, a clueless ne'er-do-well stepped right up to play wiebe's donky kong machine. everyone stared at him in disbelief as he got in the way of the video camera and continued to fiddle with the machine before giving up because he couldn't get it started. the security guy had stepped away for just a minute. if wiebe had broken the record, i'm not sure it would have been admissible since the rules are so particular about that. does anyone know the scores of the rest of the attempts? when i left, the 2nd attempt was "only" at 87,000 or so.
