yeah, popy plastic- popy also released some akumaizer 3 plastic minis like this too, im sure there are other shows as well in the similar abs style
Wow, really nice one. You don't see too many large sized clear bootlegs like that. I think what really does it for me on this guy is how long (and pointy!) his antennae are. Great figure.
It has got to be one of the buying services, but still, it is so strange that they consistently bid on (and win) all the somewhat unusual vintage stuff, seemingly with no upper limit. Did anyone catch the giant size Thundermask too?
Ive heard from multiple people that OKU is Mandarake. Some of these higher end items end up in their featured "Zenbu"auctions.
Ah, that is an interesting development. I am not sure what the strategy would be here though, except maybe just to bring more publicity to the store. You'd think going up for auction one time would basically saturate most of the buying power, so reselling/auctioning later wouldn't really end up in profit. Explains the source of funds though.
Ha you too? I bid on this one also! My bid of 10500 wasn't enough. Isn't this one of the rarer Popy larger sized minis? I know they have a non clear V3 in that size as well as a Fireman.
That is a mighty beautiful shelf right there. I have just a scant few of those figure myself. I am still hunting one of those large Tiger7 figures as a primary vintage goal.
Thanks! It takes a lot of patience - especially if you don't want to pay too much. The Tiger 7 took me years to find as have several of the KR villains.
That's one impressive shelf. I share ultra's lament on that larger Tiger Seven. Very tough to find. I've seen a few pop up recently but nothing going for less than 28000 though.
Ditto on the congratulations! I've only been able to score re-issue villians and the new medicom ones, that I wished looked more like the old style. And yes, that Tiger Seven is amazing! Great job!
Interestingly, that large V3 clear vinyl bootleg originally came with green and red tinsel inside of it, just as an FYI. I haven't unpacked my Kamen Rider toys yet, but when I do, I will get a picture of it for you.
Now that you mention it Brian there is a pic of the bootleg in issue 4 of Super 7 magazine-the cyborg vinyl article. It would be nice to see a bigger pic though.
Congrats, Jonathan. It's toys like this giant flower-headed KR villain that got many of us into collecting Japanese vinyl. An absolutely classic figure.
Thanks guys. Jim- seeing your collection at the Morikami museum years back got me started with the whole giant villain thing. This is all your fault!!
Oh yeah, just remembering the excellent pics from that show is making me jealous. I didn't even realise that that was your collection. A great exhibit of some just amazing figures.
Did anyone here score that removable mask kamen rider stronger this afternoon? I've been depressed all day that I didn't bid higher. Pretty bummed that I let myself get outbid on that one. I've never seen one for sale before this. Hopefully there's a chance I could find another one...
The removable Kamen rider Stronger is a fantastic figure .. on the KR front , I picked this kamen rider 2 up a few months ago but dont know anything about him ... anyone have the candy ? The auction listed him as " Ohno sword society of friends "
