I'm surprised there isn't a beer thread in here. I know a lot of you drink it, but this is a thread for those of us that love it. Let's talk about those craft brews that we love. If you love the big corporate beers companies, please keep it to yourself. I'll start it off with what some of my favorites are. Ones that I have tried recently are: Chicory Stout from Dogfish Head. This is a nice stout. You can definitely taste the coffee, but is also not overwhelming. Stone Vertical Epic 10/10/10. This was an excellent Belgian style ale. Wine grapes were also added to the fermentation process to this beer. The end result is a beer that is about 9.5% ABV and the grapes really hide the alcohol taste well, but the sweetness is subtle. Highly recommended if you haven't tried it yet. That's it from me for now. Discuss!
I'm yet to try it but I know my dad is way into Old Rasputin. used to drink one at the start of every Cavs game for luck or something I'm not much into beer myself but the one I tried and liked was Lion Stout
Yes, but there's nothing wrong with consolidating the beer thread into one. Since the search function doesn't work.
There are a lot of us that don't drink it too . . . maybe I should start a juice and non alcoholic beverage thread too . . . but then again, maybe not!
Awesome! This was what I was hoping for. I don't think i've ever seen Troegs brewing here on the west coast. I love seeing what east coast or midwest breweries people like. We have so many breweries in California, I don't get to see too many midwest and east coast craft beers on the shelves.
Oh man, I've heard nothing but good things about 3 Floyds. I haven't found any place that carries it out here though.
Just had this tonight. Lagunitas Brown Sugga Ale. It was mediocre. You can definitely taste the brown sugar, but it seemed to make the beer too sweet. Didn't realize the brew is 9.9% ABV, no wonder I felt buzzed quicker than usual.
When I first started drinking beer, Fat Tire was one of my favorites. But now, I just can't drink Fat Tire anymore. In fact most of New Belgium beers I find to be terrible. Except for some of their Lips of Faith series brews. But, to each his own. Beers I have in my fridge right now.
I gotta say that Fat Tire and Sierra Nevada are two crappy beers that somehow got themselves lumped in with the good beer crowd. Sorry, SLM! Right now I'm loving Ninkasi, and always Rogue, and I'm re-exploring my love of Black Butte Porter.
A couple holiday brews I'm enjoying (not my photos). And I must confess I really like Sierra Nevada. It's pretty much my "Bud".
Oh man! I forgot all about that Anchor "Merry Christmas Happy New Year" !! That is such a good winter brew. Gotta pick some of that up next time.
I'm feel the same way about holiday brews. I heard good things about that Ninkasi Sleighr though. I love the label and the name as well. What I did not like from Ninkasi was their Tricerahops. So many better IPAs out there.
my choice,,,duvel........ delirium tremens is good too but you don't see it much round these parts....
def one of my choices.. some others i also enjoy. Harpoon Ale "winter warmer" Snow Goose and Smutty Nose makes a nice Winter Ale too.
