Still really enjoying this show. A few episodes have been just ok but most of them are tons of fun. Looking forward to the finale next week. Spoiler I did not see the Xena wrote the book of the dead plot twist coming!
Agreed. A couple were not as funny as the rest, though they did advance the story. Last one was back on part with the first few.
Agreed. Couldn't believe I recognized Tiny Tim closing out. I saw him on tv when I was about 3 or 4. I can't remember the names of the people I know well but give me music pre '86 and it's like photo memory.
Season 2 started last night and it is spectacular! I am still shocked something so wonderful is actually on tv at all.
I think I wrote this in the horror movie thread, but I enjoyed S2 E1 more than any episode from S1. So very, very good!
Have you been keeping up with this season? I am still blown away by this show every single week. So much fun from start to finish. In that last episode did you see when the bartender was putting that huge spoonful of K into Kelly's glass? The look on her face when she drank it was because the actor playing the bartender decided it would be funny to use a big heaping spoon of salt!
Glad you peeps started talking about it again, i did'nt even know there was a new season started. Looking forward to diving back in to the mayhem!
Two episodes in, I loved Ash's old room. Suzi fuckin Quatro poster. Cool. Classic Sabbs poster. Hell yeah. The up the butt and tentacle scene was just as crazy and balls to the wall hilarious, as any of the movies. I'm really impressed how they have made the sidekicks (and now his dad) into integral parts of the show. Lucy Lawless never fails to entertain, either . . .
Watched episode 5 last night, i frigging love this show. It makes me cackle with delight on a regular basis . . .
I love how this entire show is such a tribute to the films. Bringing in the same actors to reprise their roles even for tiny parts. Using so many of the same props and locations. The behind the scenes stuff is as entertaining as the show itself. I wish the episodes and seasons were longer but what they give us already is amazing especially in this era television that I can't seem to relate to at all anymore. "I'm gonna make like a tree and fuck you!"
Just finished season 2. Much like everyone else liked the first few episodes (up until Lee Majors was killed) then hated the whole Ball arc (fell asleep most of those episodes -asylum etc) then the show wrapped up nicely. So not as good as season 1 but not bad.
Season 3 started last week! The first episode was great. Same silliness and over the top gore it's known for with some nice character building moments too. Spoiler That harp kill was FANTASTIC!
Oh man...there's a lot of stuff I definitely should not talk about, haha. One of the cooler things that I definitely try to not be too much of a fanboy about is that we do have some props from the original films that come from Rob Tapert's personal collection. For example I had to do some work on the motorized mechanisms in the wall clock from Evil Dead 2. I mean, it's just a clock, but it's THAT clock! I can't share photos or reveal secrets, but I could tell you an endless list of stuff I've made, S3E1 was extremely prop heavy for example. How do I do that "spoiler" thing?
I was amazed to hear how many props are used again and again through the different movies and shows. Even in other movies like the same exact necronomicon prop being in Jason goes to hell. Do you have any idea why the kandarian dagger is completely different in the movies and the shows?
