Haven't built a serious set in years, but I did (with some shame) watch the new Lego Masters hosted by Will Arnett yesterday. As reality TV it's pretty unremarkable, but even in the one episode out so far there were some beautiful builds. I hope they nix the usual plays for relatable competitors and team drama, and focus more on the bricks.

Would be cool if Lego could get a hold of the Robocop licence and make a few sets. As well as Alien and Terminator. That would be damn epic! Which probably won't ever happen but one can dream lol.

I didn’t realize it interacts with changing electronic eyes. I still don’t think I’ll get anything other than the blind bag minis.

I finally got the Pirate of Barracuda Bay LEGO Ideas set. I could never afford the pirate ships as a child so this set was a must have. I’ve been back and forth on the new LEGO Ideas grand piano, I think I’ll wait until someone finds a way to rig real wires into it for sound

Same here, I never had the ship, but sure wished I did. But I can still vividly recollect getting this set, and how overjoyed I was with it. I mean, we all have a lot of toys when we are kids, but some things somehow immediately cement themselves into our unconsciousness. This was one of those for me. I treasured this set so much (pun intended!) that this was the first toy I actively remember keeping the box for, to store it and keep all the precious pieces (and memories) together. I got a heck of a lot of playability from this, considering how relatively un-versatile it was for the time (alas, that seems to be the case for all modern Lego), but anyways, so many good memories.

    Thank you, Oma! :`¬\

I saw these Ultraman lego a couple years ago, but ran across them again recently.

I don't have an active lego collection, but I tried downloading some designer software and tried to put together the Gyango figure. Currently working on sourcing the parts. I got about 80% through one order on Bricklink. Going to wait until those come in to work on the rest. I had to make up the back because the photo from Flickr only shows the front. But I am pretty happy with my solution.

The ears took hours to figure out. They are minifig lifeguard floats (think Baywatch), and are painted silver.

he looks great; it’s a shame that you have to paint two elements for the ears though. Good luck!

This morning I figured out I had the wrong color grey selected for some parts. After I corrected that, I was able to source the stuff I need for Gyango from two shops. With shipping it ran $35 total. So maybe a little expensive, but seems pretty good for a first time custom project. That Bricklink site is crazy. I was able to upload a list of parts from the software and it automagically figured out the cheapest combination of purchases to fill my list. The level of infrastructure there for the hobby is a little mind-boggling.

$35 is great since you dont have a stockpile to source from. I enjoy the tinkering with different parts to make various shapes, its my creative black hole

I still need to paint the ears, but my bricks arrived and I'm pretty excited my computer design based on just a photo worked in real life. Had to share.
