So I finally got to my doctor for a check up, and I got a Tetanus booster shot since it's probably been about 10 years since my last one, and all I can say is: "OW!"

It's been 2 days since my shot, and it feels like there's a marble stuck in my shoulder... it doesn't feel like anything is "wrong", but dang, my arm hurts... just remember, if you get a Tetanus booster, don't get it in the arm you use more frequently.

it's amazing the difference in how your arm feels depending on who gives the shot. it seems like some nurses get it to where you experience minimal discomfort, and some just jab it in the muscle and leave your arms sore for a week

The tetanus shot is notoriously painful. IT SUCKS!

The Tetanus syrum is so thick your muscle tissue cannot absorb it for hours, sometimes days depending on your vitamin health, muscle structure, various other apsects, ect.

The nurse who gave me the shot was great... I didn't even feel the shot. It wasn't until the next morning that I really felt like I pulled a muscle. I just got back from a gym workout... hoping that working the muscle area will help move the Tetanus shot "juice" along faster...

As mentioned, this seems like a common thing. I had one about a year ago. Didn't feel a thing when she gave it to me, yet from Day 2 to about Day 7, my shoulder felt like it had taken a good, sound beating. She even asked me before I did it which arm I used more often, so she could be sure to give the shot in the opposite arm..

It's kinda weird... I can move my arm forwards and backwards fine (I could bowl for example), but I can't really move it too much laterally (so I can't do the chicken dance).

Turns out, I think the shot (and the pain) helped reduce some extraneous motion in my darts delivery pitch, so I had the best night of my darts league career last night. Go figure... ;)

Last time I got a tetanus booster (a couple of years ago) my shoulder was sore for a few days and I kinda liked it. :?

    Man-up and walk it off.

LOL... it still hurts! I might win my darts league individual win this season if it holds up... so I'm conflicted. ;)

Will the shot qualify as doping? ;p

Put a warm compress on it, it'll increase bloodflow to the muscle and help absorption.

Two points to make here, both from experience:
    1. Yes, get your tetanus boosters every 10 years. I can't figure out why your car dealer can send you a mailer when you should have your oil or antifreeze changed .... or your dentist for a checkup.... but why not your doctor for a tetanus booster??

    2. Do not go weeding in the back yard a few weeks after you have a new roof installed. I knelt down next to the flower bed near the garage pulling up the weeds .... and withdrew in horror to find one of these anchored into the bottom of my kneecap !!!! Yeeeeow !!!
