I've been trying to find a movie I saw about 6-7 years ago. It was about a man who's father was an expert soba cook. But the man hated soba and anything related to it. When his father died he inherited the restaurant but didn't know the recipe for the soba his father made. So he left and decided to go around Japan to find the best soba places and started a fanzine with the best spots to eat it. It became so popular that some people walked the soba trail by foot. One day he decided to recreate his fathers soup....
I'd like to know the name if anyone knows....

The Korean film, castaway on the moon has a hilarious jjajjangmyeon delivery scene. Noodles, still. Great movie too.

Another great Asian food films are Eat Drink Man Woman and three sisters. Both revolving around food one some level and both great films.

Sorry I'm no help, at least some good food movies are coming about.

That's something that I love about Asian food it's a great vehicle for many things, story telling one of them. The French do it well too.

@bryce  It does have a touch of kung fu Panda! But no...
@ribbon controller, yes, this might be it. So it was udon and not soba. That's why I couldn't find it!! Funny, the actor's last name is the same as mine... Thanks a lot!!
@gatiio, speaking of food movies, I just watched Dead Sushi... it's like a gore-comedy film. I haven't made up my mind if I liked it or not. :?

I also enjoyed Daytime Drinking, while we are on the subject of food and drink themed Asian films. [except for the idiots in front of me who decided it was an ideal time to make a drinking game in the theatre :x ]
