Latin America cries the loss of one of our great ones. Yesterday in Mexico City, Gabriel García Márquez lost the war against cancer.

How he has influenced most of the people I know I cannot describe. His books, wether I hated them or loved always left their mark. Adios Gabo.

So-called magical realism may have fallen from favor as a trend in letters but maestro Sr. Márquez was the master of it, surpassing other greats like Allende, Fuentes, et al. His mark on literature is indelible and he will always be fondly respected and highly regarded.

'One Hundred Years of Solitude' is my all time favorite book. Sad to hear of his passing this morning.

These were horrible news when I heard them yesterday. I'm still coping with it.

    I will miss him.

“He really had been through death, but he had returned because he could not bear the solitude.”

I hope he comes back. The world will be much too cold without him.
