I am very glad that all of you enjoy the pictures as much as I do. As you say Steve, these bootleg figures are great and the amount of detail they have. The body and the mask of this particular one is very similar to licensed Bandai, even the art on the cards. The darker tone in the feet, I think it is a reaction in the golden color of the paint due to the age of the figure.
Again thank you very much Steve for all your good comments :!:

Very nice boot you got yourself there. Arashi was massively knocked off, producing a great array of figures!

Thank you Andy, I'll try to catch other variants of the same figure of Ninja Arashi.

Great score Andy, this Gatchaman it´s one of my favorites bootlegs.
I like all the details; the cloak and the helmet.
Still in my want list, I've seen some at auction but I could never win one.
    Thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks! It's one of the scarcest of the kaiju/new kaiju series. Took me a while to get one. Takes time, but it's a fun figure. :)

Excellent score, Andy. A very wonderful figure, one you definitely don't really see pop up for sale. I am sure it feels very rewarding after a great hunt to finally have one of these for your bootleg family. Was it religious hunting in backalley toy shops that finally paid off, or lucky auction searching? Definitely a cool take on Gatchaman, and happy to see such a nice version; thanks for sharing here.

Thanks! It was a dumb-luck situation, but I have been on the lookout for 2-3 years. It's such a cool and crazy line, with interesting new things popping up, out of the blue, on the radar from time to time. I remember catching the Ultraman Ace a while back (there's a photo in this thread). I'm sure there are others out there, but it's literally the only one of those I've ever seen. Makes for fun collecting when you don't know what you'll see from day to day. ;)

Thanks for sharing a pic, Andy. What a great toy & it's a nice Ken likeness too. Pretty good that it's in such nice shape. Congrats on the find!

I love this one! Congrats. How close is it in size to the genuine one?

It's a bit bigger than a yes/no (aka nodder) figure.

    Ninja Arashi two other bootlegs.
In my opinion are two different versions.

My guess is they may be by the same maker, but slightly different materials were used in production - for example yellow scabbard on the left and what looks like a green one on the right.

But the world of Arashi, V3, and Rainbowman bootlegs is vast and wide, so who really knows! ^_^

Thank you Andy and fosa comun!
My theory is that; maybe they are made by the same maker but in different workshops and that's why the small variations between one another.

    Great close-up.

Could it be that one is molded after the other? Vinyl casting does shrink from the master, so if one is a master of the production of the other then it can make up a difference similar to the one these two have.

Thank you very much chimply.kaiju and gatiio!
I will try to measure the two figures gatiio, maybe you're right.
    Best regards!

Yeah, the close-up shots are excellent, thank you @Alebrije. The changes are so subtle in some of the facial features, e.g. the eyebrows, eyes, mouth, hair, that it is a little difficult to tell on some whether the detailing itself has changed, or it is a different artist/paint style, but the headband looks noticeably different in my view, which does suggest a new (or altered) sculpt for the head. Now, where is that facial recognition software....

I think it's safe to say that if you put five of the same bootleg side by side, you'll get five variants of the figure. QC didn't seem to be a major issue for most producers. ;)

^^^ Great pick up! I just got one of those recently Andy, posted it in the Vintage Mail Day thread (although not as clean and shiny as yours). My all time favorite Barom One sculpt. Have the white headed version coming in tomorrow :)
