Not really my thing - but I can definitely see a lot of interior designers/web designers thinking these are unique and cool.

With an initial goal of $5000 to produce three colourway options - seems a bit crazy to set a single fourth colourway as a $50,000 stretch goal.

Because this is one hundred percent just a money grab. How is a few pieces of wood for a hundred bucks still putting them at only 1/10th of their cost? If all you want to do is impress your instagram friends with how cultured you are just get a zoho artform. It's a hell of a lot more luxurious then the supposed "most luxourious toy ever." I think they start at around 10 grand, so they'll be no doubt how luxurious you are when you slap a few hashtags on a picture of this next to your cintiq.

    how is it luxurious?
combing Henry and Emma, and balling up the fluff in your hands, rolling it into a compact globe ( a fashionable designer gray), and playing fetch with two large cats is way more fun, and definitely more luxurious! And free too ;)

haha! I just spoke to Emma, and she wants to be paid in Temptations cat treats (mega sized bag) or a tub of crumbled goat cheese. Henry is coming home on Thursday, after being boarded at the vets for treatment and recovery for 2 weeks (poor guy!) so I imagine he'll be grateful to be released from prison. He does like fresh chicken though! :)

p.s. production is super limited! they get furminated once every 2 months, which usually manufactures 2-3 very compacted balls approx. 2 inches in diameter, per furmination session, so it's not only luxurious, but very very very exclusive ;)

Not cool imo. Also, the campaign spiel comes across as utter wank. I fail to see how Australia's multicultural society inspired a rather plain wooden toy...

The kickstarter seems to be going gangbusters though, so more power to them, I guess?

These actually aren't new. The designer made a version of them 12ish years ago. They are nicely designed if you are into the simplicity and cute factor. Very much intended for those who collect western aesthetic art toys. 12 years ago they were ahead of the game, great quality and design. My only negative is I'd like to see something new 12 years later.

Its neither good nor bad. Never have I seen so much work put into promoting and over-explaining something so unoriginal.

My review of this luxurious designer toy:

    Its fine. >shrugs shoulders<
