Was too burned out to take photos of the show, so I'll leave that to people with more sleep and better cameras. But the selection was excellent, and I've never seen the overwhelming majority of fans at a show emerge totally buzzing like that.

My deepest thanks to Rich for making the new sculpts accessible to so many of us, and to the entire crew behind setting up and running the travelling Vault. Special thanks to Mike for bagging everything with patience after watching a hundred of us hem and haw over every toy on the table.

I met Rich today and he clarified that "Mutant" is not intended to be pronounced "MYOO-TANT," and for that I am grateful.

Really curious to see the resin DXL thing that was $600 bucks. Anyone snag a picture?

We hit the ground running so I didn’t even snap photos. I will say they were HEAVY, and bright !

And what we plan on doing is creating heads just for that size so it’s unique to the DXL. This was Josh’s head design.

    Thanks !

We try to make everyone happy with both how the lottery is handled and stock of toys. I think this may have been the smoothest show to date for both of those criteria.

I’m forever grateful to everyone for the support. Year after year strange faces turn to friends and list keeps growing. Hopefully I can continue to make interesting and quality toys that people enjoy. Today, at the very least I think I hit thang mark :)

The full lineup from the show

The show ran really smooth. I did the math and it was about 60-90 seconds per person. I think a smart move was the volume of DXes: with 73 total and a limit of one DX per person with an RSVP of ~110 or so, you had a minimum 66% chance of getting a DX. When you mark out no-shows (my roommate for my AirBNB had to drop out a week before the show cause he got a new job) and people who maybe couldn't afford a DX or wanted something else, your chances drastic go up (steiner math)

My only complaint I would say would be the conflict with Punk Drunkers. They're not loud announcing winners and when you have an MVH lotto and theirs in this relatively small area, it was damn near impossible to hear them. This was especially egregious when IMO their lotto system sucks. They don't ask what toy you want when you pull a number, so even if you won you might not have won the right way. They write down the winning numbers into the respective toy column and call them out in sequential order, so you sit there with your thumb up your ass waiting to see if you won trying to hear with a good 100+ people cramped pretty close. Thankfully the way I was angled I saw the winning numbers and saw I lost so I can move on.

Rich is constantly refining his process which I appreciate tremendously as a fan. He sees something that he missed or something that can work better and he just does it. Running a toy show I appreciate what he does behind the register as well as the airbrush. A lot of people are kind of stuck in tradition to the detriment of everyone involved: they're pissing away a lot of time and energy because they don't want to try something new. None of us come to these shows to sit in lines; we come in here to hang out and buy some toys. Anything that can speed up the who buying process so we can hang out more I am 1000% in support of.

in my opinion, the fest was fantastic. the venue has a day crew and a night crew so no one was rushed out which was my main complaint with dcon last year. i dont know if we’ll have a perfect show any time soon but these artists did some really cool stuff this year.

joe bringing past releases from his archive just to give fans another thing to go crazy over was such a cool touch!

rich did an outstanding job with his offerings and i know so many of his fans that were trippin over being able to get a fully painted dx for retail

johan and michael always have a beautiful display and their new figures were flyin off the shelf. absolutely a great show where everyone was able to focus on hanging out instead of running from one end of a god damn stadium to the other

I was watching the action from my lonely perch of indentured domestic servitude all weekend (cue orchestra of tiny violins), and from what I saw and heard, everyone went home happy from the Death’s Vault tent (and from 5 Points in general) with a smile on their face. Plenty to go around and little to no stress. That’s what it’s all about.

This custom certainly focuses on the HARDCORE part of MVH

What's the aftermarket on soft vinyl buttplugs?

    It’s complicated.

Typically the aftermarket is strongest for soft vinyl butt plugs right after the release when hypebeasts are still throwing their weight around. Then it tapers off.

HOWEVER, soft vinyl buttplugs that have demonstrably spent time in a famous person’s ass will always command a premium. The trick is verification. A certificate of authenticity is usually necessary but as you can imagine, difficult to obtain from famous persons for obvious reasons. I mean, sure-there are some free spirits out there that will certify a butt plug has been inserted in their anal cavity for xx number of hours, but in my experience, it’s the exception and not the norm.

I personally love my marbled chocolate/GID swirl buttplug collection.

You ever given those a wash? I have to wonder if that chocolate is really part of the vinyl.
