MVH toys thread

Congrats to the lucky winners! I was pacing back and forth all day but no luck here unfortunately. I had more than a few friends sharing their win with me, and I'm happy for them It was a hell of a release, Rich!

I also wanted to mention the reason for spamming my own feed on IG.

Two things actually. One I’m sorry the people reposting. It doesn’t help and I don’t ask for it. It’s nice to get support but I rather people post photos of their actual collections if they feel the need to post my toys.

Two, all the posts in my own thread. I was looking at the feed and wanted to do something different. Something that would set the new stuff apart in an exciting way. So I just dumped the black boxes with shadow text if you zoomed in it read far off shore. Then the photos of the release. The black separated it and pretty much put on notice something was happening not just another post. And the other photos in groups or three kept it visually clean on each line.

I’m not gonna do it every drop, but really enjoyed the interaction and excitement. So I’ll do it agin for drops that I want to separate from the feed for a few days.

I have all the higher quality photos and will post them here at some point.

I'm focused on my own collection rather than anyone elses. I won't do myself any favors by getting stressed over someone elses situation. If he won, then good for him.

But, as much as I wish this was true, Rich said no Leviathan for a while right on the post yesterday. The giants (specifically leviathan and berserker) were what got me into the MVH brand, so I'm off on a hunt for the older releases myself. As far as I am aware, there won't be a chance for berserkers any time soon either (I think the head was destroyed)?

 

I can assure you there are FAR worse people than Rolex. Ive talked to him and it just is what it is. He has money and likes to buy art toys. The doubles he has are different in the way one is a master. I can list a handful of people who were familiar collectors that have flipper and trade flipped off the bat many times in secret.

You're one amazing dude with one amazing collection. Wouldn't worry about him bud.

 

Fair enough. I'm gonna try to make it out to more ton conventions after DCON, so I got chances with Five Points Fest and Death's Vault coming up. Fingers crossed for something covered in sick paint and hate!

Is FPF the next MVH release?

 

I've mentioned a few times how much I enjoy my Doji toys, and I think it's the mask that really brings these sets together. Hands down, my favorite mask for Milk & Honey is the Neko mask, and the Kappa mask for Toxic Waste. These masks seem to fit the color scheme of the blanks really well. Coming in at a close second on both, is the trademark cyclops mask. Word on the street is that this one is Doji's personal favorite.

 

The waiter said this was a cool toy and then asked "is this for a baby"?

I always find people's reactions to my toys very interesting. Now that I've been into taking photos for a while, I see it a lot more. Even my coworkers get into seeing what figure I brought in to work every day (I bring a different toy in most days to take pics on the way to/from work).

Congrats to the winners (not sure if any are on here)! But, an awesome giveaway! @Rich I think it's really cool that you are painting some of them too, I hadn't even considered that you would do that.

Yesterday was the most beautiful day of the year so far, mid 70s and perfectly clear. Cause of the weather I decided to work from home. At one point I took my small MVH toys outside to my terrace for a group shot. Turns out it is too difficult to capture the beauty of these base vinyls AND Manhattan at the same time, but I tried my best. I'm not sure if this is an inherent limitation in photography, or if I could learn to take a better shot once I get around to learning DSLR photography. As soon as I have a free weekend, I plan on sitting down and watching some guides/reading some videos.
