I moved to San Francisco in 2007 from Richmond VA. I was a kaiju and vinyl toy nerd so of course one of the first places i wanted to visit was the fabled Kimono My House in Emeryville. Flynn told stories of driving 24 hours straight there from texas to buy all he could in the 90s. I made the trek and although it wasn't full of vintage Marusan and Bullmark. I still loved every aspect of it. Here are some photos from my first trek there.

It was located on the roof of a non-descript warehouse in Emeryville, which is a nice way of saying Oakland, The warehouse was full of artist spaces and hippie living quarters. You had to walk up rickety old steps to get to the roof where you were greeted by a Giant Ultraman. These are all I have . Hoping some of you guys might have some too since I forgot to take more photos on the inside.

One of the rare US stores that looked just like the stores in Japan. Clutter and all.

Thanks for the pics. I don't know if i ever took any pics of my visits. I do rememebr we would make a whole day of our visits to Kimono My House. Purchased most of my first Microman there. I always remember some rocker Kamen Rider as the greater, not the big Ultraman... But I moved to Portland in 96, so all my Kimono visits were mid 90's. Different era.
2007 S7 cases had yummy treats inside them. Wish the retail space would be more like that again. Hopefully someday.

Heard when he closed down this spot he finally let go of some old treasures. Has anybody been to the new spot?
