I don't really have the proper camera, but I know that some of you do.

Up close and personal gives it a whole new perspective. Love it!

Nice Mibora! What program are you using to do this? Probably photoshop, which I don't own.

Yeah Photoshop! I've been using Photoshop since Ver. 3.0 was introduced in 1993 and no I don't give tutorials. :)
It was the tongue that gave it away, right?

Yep, the tongue was a dead give away, but also the scales.

how do you get upclose shots without it getting fuzzy?
is it the setting on the camera or the camera itself?

Use the macro setting on your camera (sometimes has an icon that looks like a flower).

A lot of point and shoots might struggle.

yea, i do that. but when i get it really close and personal, it loses focus and doesnt regain it after trying.
    i need a new camera. :x
i've got some cool shots in mind.

In order to get an all layers detailed pic, you need to close your lens to the max (the higher "f" possible). I don't remember the exact setting for those but a f16 is a good setting. At this aperture, you will need a long exposure time, so you definitively need a tripod (here approximately 3-5 seconds under direct spotlight).

I don't have a dedicated macro lens for my reflex camera yet. So I use a very regular lens (Pentax DAL 18-55 f/3,5-5,6), but I use a focal length setting close to the human vision (50mm). Unless you want some kind of effect on your photos, do not use a focal length lower than 35mm or the picture will be deformed.

The first pic was taken with my Powershot G5 (bridge) and the second one with my Pentax K-m (Reflex).

I'll try to put another pink close-up tonight !
