Damianos Mr. Pizza is great and right in the hood. also like the dome brick oven pizza and big mommas and papas on Santa Monica in w. Hollywood.
Right. Pizza=Dough (THIN!), Sauce, and Cheese. Avocados, though wonderful, have NO place on a pizza, nor does any of that other crap on that monstrosity!
I like traditional Yorkshire fare like: Shephard's Pie pizza, thick crust smothered in minced beef and topped with fluffy mashed potatoes .... mmmmm .... fatty also like Lard pizza - YUM!
I can't help it if I come from Yorkshire They bring us up on a diet of lard and arse-kicks there We used to eat vegeatbles too - but only super overcooked ones with loads of salt and all teh goodness boiled out of them
Well, gettin' everyone to agree on L.A.'s best pizza is a tall task, but do yourself a favor and visit Casa Bianca. This family owned pizzeria has been slingin' pies since '55. Their thin crust deluxe pizza with a side of sausage & peppers and a cold Moretti Dark is enough to make even a Zombie smile.
Barone's Famous Italian in the Valley is great. Opened in 1945 and was the first restaurant in So. Cal. to serve pizza. Damiano's (Mr. Pizza) is open late which is good, but it's formerly great atmosphere has gotten much creepier over time, and even at it's best was never the best pizza in L.A., just the best pizza you could have delivered at 4AM even if you lived 30 miles away. That thing with avocado looks kind of funky. J.B., Casa Bianca is indeed awesome, and it's lucky that the Zombie you brought has oven mitts, that pasta looks hot!
I love Big Mama's and Papa's pizza. Their slices are large like Greco's but their pizza is delious! Another great place is Rusty's Pizza Parlor in Santa Barbara.
It be tasty to me! Next time I am in the Bay Area....you and Joe will have to prove it by taking me somewhere better. If you're right, I'll pay.
