Anyone ever successfully polish/shine the brass eyes on a Ggml Hedoran without damaging the paint on the toy? My marbled orange/black smashface eyes are super tarnished… I’d like to shine it up, but I also don’t want to mess it up in the process. I’m thinking brasso, or maybe a jewelry polishing cloth? Any experience in this topic?

Wow, I never thought about the eyes tarnishing. I’m thinking maybe some jewelry cleaner and a q-tip for accurate cleaning?

No experience specifically on a Ggml toy, or any toy for that matter; however, I have polished vintage brass cased watches with a white vinegar / salt mix. That may be safer to use around paint than chemical cleaners?

I would assume you’ll first have to ascertain whether they are actually brass or is just a finish?

if it is, there are tons of links on the net and here is a list of a few options, of which I have only tried the vinegar/salt/flour one.

That would be my question as well. I think it would make Gargamel even cooler if they are Brass, but most likely these eyelets are not.

I will do some investigating. Maybe I’ll just throw caution to the wind and try to shine up ole smashface’s eyes.

I've got some extra if you want to just try on an eyeball by itself.
