I am completely digging the new releases too. I would love to see massive versions of these, guess I am thinking too much of the Mattel Kraken with great fondness, but given how deep they go with the tails and bodies, I expect 9" will actually still come in as a hefty piece of vinyl. I couldn't agree more, that I am so happy to see some truly original giant monster creations that earn the name kaiju. AA continues to put out some amazing stuff, and glad these Medicom releases can reach more folks.

Some pics of the dragon wax are up on the blog. I really like the alternative head!

    Of course... Thx !
This dragon looks too much like an X-Plus toy to me. Not that X-Plus is not producing great toys, it's just that it does not have enough sofubi feeling.

^ I can't tell from the translation, but based on the photos, it looks like the first photo is a different toy, and the photo of the wax is the AA version. The wax looks much more like an AA toy to me than the first photo.

Exactly. Was going to say the same thing. Completely different sculpt!

The first pic is a model used for animations.

All-right, with closer examination it indeed looks different. I would need to see it assembled to have another opinion.
This must be the longest tail ever !

I'm going to wait until I see the actually toy version to judge. I didn't like the tanuki based on the initial design sample but once I saw it in sofubi I liked it much more so no judgment here until final product. Its nice to see the wax though. I'm glad he has an internet presence again. Anyone know if he does the little pen and ink cartoons? So fun.

also did anyone else notice the group shot of the new pre-orders he posted?
the guerilla punch looks brown/orange, instead of the bright red that the pre-order pics have had. granted it might just be the camera adjusting the color levels, but it looks different to me.

I think my favorite part of the dragon sculpt is that it's Anraku's take on what a Ray Harryhausen dragon made in China might have looked like. I really would like to see the animations he made with the dragons.

Damn you guys!!! I already convinced myself I wasn't going for that clear Goga but now after seeing that pic the debate is on again! Fuck a duck!

7 days to go for my first Goga to show before I decide if I like it enough to warrant a second.
    Anyone else in this boat?

I'm definitely in that boat... Was never a big fan of Goga and when these came out through Medicom I felt like I needed to get one due to the price and availability of such a sought after piece. The month passed and I never pulled the trigger - there are parts of the figure that I think are really cool/funny but when I weighed up the fact that I could get 3 or more Yamomarks (as an example) for the same price the Goga lost it's appeal.

The clear with GID guts is very cool, but never having seen one in person I can't risk that amount of money based purely on hype. Plus it's gonna take up a huge amount of shelf space.. I'd rather display more smaller toys with the limited space I have. I will probably be kicking myself a year from now for passing on a Goga, but then again there are always more toys out there for everyone.

No Goga- a go go for me. I've survived this long without one why start now? Looking forward to the mini dako set though, which should roll through in December.

I'm in the same boat Ben! At first I was just going to go for Ghost Whale Tiamat, but the paint application on Keitosu was too good to pass on.

    Deja-vu ;)

I was excited to hear that the first Gogas are supposed to be here early December, with the Zollos following just weeks later. Though I'm probably most looking forward to checking out the Panda in hand, tho he's not meant to land before February.

Hoping for MechaGoga and the crazy looking monster that shoots bolts of electricity out of its eyes to make an appearance also!

Some of these preorders are a little on the pricey side, but look at it this way....there have been what, 12 or so AA toys released via Medicom now, and taken together they cost less than just ONE older aftermarket Goga. So if you are not on the fence about the sculpts, it's an AA collectors dream.
