Just wanted to make a mass message to anyone waiting to here about this. Nobody has heard from me either way, and that's simply because it's not currently in my hands. Anyone who reached out to me about this will hear back one way or the other! Production is simply addressing things as they come, and the setup with the toys just isn't up for a little while. That is all! Thanks for your patience.
Just updating again. Aaaaaand nothing! Not sure what the holdup is, I think it's just a busy production schedule and they'll get to it when they get to it. I don't dare wager a guess at when they'll make decisions at this point--I want to say "soon," but I'm pretty sure I said that a few weeks ago, so I won't.
I've gotten them clearance for some of the other stuff the director wants to use like some Godzilla toys and TMNT, but I'm nudging them to also use as much of the indie stuff as possible! In the meantime I've been making them some guns and knives and misc stuff.
So I think at this point people should be getting emails from production with clearance forms--however, it has now moved out of my hands! I'm not sure what or how decisions are being made from here on out. I'm hoping I get called back in to help advise, but apparently this part is being handled by the German part of the production, so I might not get to include any more input or have any more insight or updates! Just wanted to say that in case anyone was waiting to hear from me specifically, you're info has been handed off! I'm hoping they buy all your toys!!!
I want my sultry, naked ass in a movie. Oh, my bad. Is is the wrong message board for that type of request?
Okay! Thanks! But I expect to get paid extra if I'm to be pooped on! Isn't that a thing with you Germans? I don't know nothin', I'm just a dumb southerner. I only know whut I see on them damn interwebs man. @LastResortToys thanks for letting us have a little fun. I'll leave your thread alone now.
General heads up--I got some emails from production last night for the first time in weeks. They've screwed around so long that things are down to the wire. The propsmaster and I had been pushing them for about 2 months to get this stuff taken care of...oh well. SO--what you need to know: I think they are going to ask about renting the toys from people to save money (though I'm not sure how much they're really going to save with return shipping from Germany---but that's someone else's job to figure out.) If you still want your toy(s) used, I would advise that you encourage the production team by being able to ship them out ASAP, as I believe time is the real constraint at this point. Stupid, but that's where they're at and what's going to help. They might outright purchase some lower-priced figures, but will probably ask to rent the stuff north of $100 or so--that's my best guess.
I don't think anyone is planning to sell toys by having them be a set piece in a film--it's just for fun.
The propsmaster sent me some photos of the set the other day and I could make out some of the toys from some of you on the shelves, so I'm glad that worked out--I wasn't able to tell what all was present in the photos I don't even know which ones they ultimately chose, and besides the hand props I made, I unfortunately didn't get to be involved with the toys much beyond compiling a list of toys, artists, and prices which I handed off. But it seems they took at least some of my suggestions, so I'm happy about that. I will be surprised as anyone to see the final results on the big screen, but I'm just happy to see they actually bought some stuff from indie artists, even if they were a bit unorganized about it.
