What a glorious page this is. Really need to add some Microman to the collection one of these days. The look on that kids face holding the Pigmon pretty much says it all, doesn't it ?
Yeah, its a great photo . . . do you think the kid next to him is checking-out the makers stamps on the feet?
Ah, I was just deeply admiring those Marusan magazine grabs earlier on flickr Moog! They are such a delight, and I really appreciate you uploading the scans for our access. The factory photo is wondrous, and makes me thing of the long, wild journeys a lot of our toys have had. It's not the first time I would love to be able to trace a toy's adventures from factory to my shelf. I have to agree, the kids examining the models is pure joy. I can well imagine what was going through their heads; and yes, if only they knew what was to come. I can imagine poring over those catalogue photos as a child, just as we used to do with our generations' toys. Hmm, which kaijus do I want to ask for Christmas? The one thing these spreads always awake in me too is the extreme desire for the Marusan ape. I long for the say when NH comes out with a repro'd version of him to stand alongside my Ultra buddies.
Yeah they are wonderful images ... I was wondering about the Gari the kid is holding.. I guess its the model kit , I know its a kid holding it but it seems big
Yeah, one of the Japanese bloggers said . . . "Its not a toy graveyard - its toy beginnings!". Yeah, i was wondering about that myself. They look very detailed for sofubi . . . and what are those boxes?
I thought this was the same as the advert i'd already posted, but no - same toy but its a different kid.
Ultra is looking somewhat white and 'less polished' than you might be normally used to seeing him in that trade ad. Even more interesting because it is an ad to the game for a later (i.e. more recent) Sega Drive system.
I remember that they never released the blue King Walder 2 (Cyborg Double Nine) but I don't think I've ever even seen that smoke version in the back (?) HUH? his outer head looks like a larger version of the inner head.
Love the Microman vehicles! But wow, holy crap, that kaiju/monster guide... I... I don't even know where to begin. That is the kind of thing my dreams are made of. I 1000% want a giant sized version for my wall, and the hours would just fly away. So great man. Thanks for sharing it; now just find me the real thing, and I will be friends with you for life!
Yeah mate, i've seen a few examples of these types of posters online but i think this might be the best one i've seen yet. Really cool. I might have to start searching for stuff like this on YJA . . . .
Well if we ever get one, I know just the 'brainer with plotter access who can assist in making our full-size repros a reality. Heck, kaiju encyclopedia wrapping paper!
So cool to see that poster! and all the microman stuff is so awesome to see, I had so much of it as a kid.
Not toys - but a whole lot of fun, so i'm posting it . . . More advertising for Amu Plaza Kagoshima 2014
