I live in Chinatown in Philly. Today was Chinese New Year. My girlfriend and I took some pics of the festivities: they did a Lion Dance in the lobby of my building last night to bless the building and bring it good luck here's a big ass string of loud ass firecrackers right outside my front door they eat cabbage (and throw it around) because it symbolizes money and brings prosperity here's a pic from the parade today a few blocks over all the shop/restaurant owners put out their own strands of firecrackers. here's a dude putting out his huge stand, which subsequently... blew up real big and loud and awesome I had lots of fun watching people dance in elaborate costumes and blow up very dangerous amounts of explosives in big crowds of people.
thanks for the pics!!! nice to get some flavor of the real world when you are stuck in a tiny village
Great pics Skylar! NOthin like that happens here in Texas. Right now we have the yearly stock show in fort Worth. Favorite attraction is watching the dogs rustle the cattle!
