Not impossible, just very, very, very, very hard, but NOTHING'S impossible. Just gotta be patient and dedicated and hope and blah blah blah. Or spend stupid amounts of money like it's nothing. But Ed went the "hope" and "patience" way and it paid off! I think the Dako is the best "Vader" because it's head actually is kind of similar to the Vader helmet. Also his little tail/tentacles have a cape kind of feel. It's just perfect for the tribute. Not having it sucks, BUT knowing someone more dedicated than anyone who appreciates it as much as possible is a comfort.
Perserverance is key when it comes to Anraku. It usually shows up in the most odd times and places, but I can tell you I jumped up and down when I got the vader. i'm sure the other folks who own the older one were sick of me asking about it hehe It all comes down to patience in anything with this hobby. Too often I think that people expect everything instantly. If you want anraku, wait it out. This isn't a flash in the pan thing for most of us who collect it. The trouble is that when the older stuff shows up, we go all out for it
In addition to what others have said above, Santa knows which boys and girls have been naughty and which have been nice. Sometimes it seems like the naughty ones get all the candy. But be nice. Don't complain (no perra) and moan. Stay on the right path as long as it takes and keep trying. It pays off more than you could ever imagine. Some people call it toy karma, some call it good luck, but whatever your call it, it works if you are patient.
Yeah, timing, luck, patience is needed and a huge obsession that drives me nuts. Now I'm on a patience mode. Meanwhile, trying to fidget with my camera to take shots like Geo. Love the Guerilla Punch close-up!
That's a completely different list. If you believe in that sort of thing, you might want to accompany your patience with a little prayer.
No need for prayer or patience. I sold my soul to the man at the cross-roads for Anraku. Totally worth it.
atease thats a very impressive Anraku collection you have. Old photo from my flickr but I thought I would post it anyway. I will try to take a group picture this weekend of some of the Anraku pieces I've been able to grab.
All I wanted was a Goga, JUST ONE GOGA, and she wouldn't give it to me, JUST A GOGA! Nice Ed! I like the little guys around the Goga's feet up top there, too. I like that the newer sculpts fit in just fine with the older ones, as if no time has passed.
Nice stuff, Ed. I'll have to say that my photos are crappier. Here are some of mine. I should have a couple more arriving, if they ever do. I'm not on the list, but have had some serious help from friends that I've met here. Patience is key when it come to sofubi. If Mister Anraku Ansaku would like to add me to the list, I would be more than happy to be added. Hang in there BD, you'll get one eventually. And it will be worth so much more when you do.
Everyone and their fucking awesome Anraku collections! I'd like to find the Orange set of Nue and Cambodia now. Just throwing it out there.
They talked to me about this in my Wanted thread: It's most definitely my favorite, not sure which colorway I like most though.
