30,000 Yen !!!?? No wonder prices on these have gone through the roof on eBay if Mandarake are pricing them like that. That's not a particularly special one either, by the looks of it. Holy shit.
Is anyone having problems unsubscribing from Mandarake alert emails? I think I clicked everything the right way but I'm still getting an alert on a specific search term.
Interesting Roger, as I have several 'alert' toys registered for notifications (for years now), but have never once, in all the time I have used Mandarake, actually been notified when one of them has come up for sale - and they have. Hope you can sort it out. Unfortunately, as I brought up here before, I find it slightly trying that there is not a general/support email you can contact for this sort of issue.
Did you delete the item from your alert list as a last solution? I've had luck with a few items on my list set to active alert, but no problems deactivating an alert status and keeping the item on the list as an archive.
So, yesterday I deleted all of my keyword searches. Today I got another alert email. I'm going to hold out hope that some batch job hasn't updated the mail process yet and it will resolve itself in aday or two.
Yep, same. Not that most people would pay two cents for most of the toys I am interested in, but still, would be cool to have a shot (along with everyone else).
Hmmm... Deleting keyword searches is only part of it. If you have an item on your "Alert List", you've got to delete (or deactivate) that too, or else you'll still get emails. After logging in, go to "your page", click on "Alert List". Your Alert List Items window then pops up, and then you can deactivate or delete each item...
I think part of the issue may be that the alert is only issued if the toy is restocked under the original listing that you marked (i.e., same condition and same store). I have found when clicking the 'alert'-marked listings that the item is often in stock, but at another store or in a slightly different condition.
Anyone know how old are the oldest sold out ads on Mandarake? Is the site "cleaned" from time to time?
Short answer is 'no.' Listings are not removed (at least not normally, unless there is an error). If you can find old listings, they could potentially (and do) go back many years. Nothing is ever purged from the site, though after an update a few years back it became harder to find some older listings. Any particular reason for this question?
Yes a bet with a friend and I was right! He categorically states that the listing is renewed approximately every two years.
Well to be fair, you might both be right (sort of). For existing, i.e. non-Sold Out listings, some of the shops do 'renew' the listings, such that they will appear first on the general results pages. This is very common with the Sawara store, for example, as it only operates as an online shop, and thus is continuously 'bumping' (for lack of a better word) the items it has in stock, to help clear out the warehouse. But this occurs much more frequently than every couple years, probably more bi-monthly as an estimate. But no, no old/sold out listings will reappear unless the item is resold to a Mandarake shop/comes back in stock.
Thank you sir for this detailed answer. I'm going to sum this up to my friend by saying that I was right.
Yep, got that email too on a pending order. Kind of a shame. I know most everyone except me prefers EMS for speed, etc. (and DHL is incredibly fast too) but I do prefer having that low cost option, especially for the 'cheaper' stuff I am typically buying.
I have had a pretty precious (to me) package stuck in a local sorting facility, even though tracking claims it was dispatched from there, to my local, a week ago. Went down this morning to my local postal outlet to try and get some help, but walked away none the wiser. There is an understandable backup, and I salute anyone who has to work right now to deal with this crazy situation, but also have just been worried for a long time now because this package was due a while back, and I am worried over its actual location now. But, for what it is worth, DHL stuff has been coming inside of a week from completion, which is excellent given these times.
Looks like Mandarake can give you a rough exchange rate on whatever item you’re viewing on the website now. Just select your country from the drop down and voila! Pretty neat deterrent if anything, today I realised ¥50000 is $723 bucks in convict money. Oh how I miss ¥100 being on the dollar.
Yeah 5000yen 'cheapies' quickly turn into $100+ reconsiderations after conversion & shipping fees these days
No doubt muh budding US Toys collection will suffer. Yanks got it good conversion wise so if you guys got it, spend it
What's the longest anyone ever went with an inventory check? Mine are usually overnight but this one is going on day 3.
