Hoping to tap the (counter) pop culture hive mind and see if anyone knows who illustrated the "middle finger green monster" who was known to have the quote "This one's for you". The character was used on stickers, patches, posters and custom t shirts. It would seem he was a flip of the Freakie breakfast cereal character Boss Moss. Checked the Monte book and he didn't do it. Any leads out there? Thanks in anticipation.
Only thing I’ve ever seen about this is the Camacho character found on old Supreme clothing, and the toy they made with 360 Toy Group. I saw a small interview where Jakuan himself refers to Camacho as a “70’s revised character.” So you might’ve hit it right on the head with the Freakies rip. But I have no idea who actually drew/designed this.
Thanks Robert. I am lucky enough to have picked up the Supreme Camacho the day it came out in London. What reminded me of it was this new incense chamber: https://goodhoodstore.com/store/flagstuff-monster-incense-chamber-pink-exclusive-50227
That is pretty cool. Pricey for my budget - and I am quite contented with my räuchermänn when it comes to my moderate incense needs - but very well executed, could easily be a vintage piece.
OF COURSE you have a Rräuchermänn! Too funny and 100% on brand. Wish I could help with your question, Bounch.
You'd think the google search gods would have an answer but I couldn't find anything about the original illustrator either. I did find this:
I remember it being rather ubiquitous growing up in the 70s. Usually on a sticker on some muscle car, bike or such!
Ah, you know me too well, D. I will choose to take that as a compliment. A couple actually; I'll have to post some pics some time. Knox pine scent [tannenduft] is a year-round 'okay' in my book. As I know it is not so easily accessible though, I highly recommend a local alternative in Paine's balsam fir. ___________ Apologies for the derail. I, too, know this fella well (e.g. from the comic ads above and other '70s merchandise), but don't know anything about the 'middle finger' variant.
