I finally got all of these guys together today. If anyone has pics of the Rumble Monster customs from the AA show a few years ago they'd be great to add.
There were also these: Clear HC w/ blue engine Clear yellow KW Clear brown HC w/ silver (?) engine Clear blue KW Original solid color Walder trio Milky neon color Walder trio
Thank you! So strange. I thought i got all of my guys out but i must have more packed. The brown and blue were the rumble monster customs. Im looking for more info on these. I have to check some more places and update!
@akum6n I think I may have just gone crazy and thought I had more than I did. Here are pics of those you called out, the Tshirts that came with the Gold Waruders, and the Rumble Monster Customs which seem to be casts. Also a prototype magazine picture for fun. I guess I"m reupdating my want list!!
Thanks for putting these all together, I knew there were a lot, but never kept track to see how many releases there actually were. Seeing them all, and the variety and loveliness of the different colours, makes me appreciate the line even more.
I'm curious, but what do you mean? I just figured they were new releases of the Charactics figures by RM, similar to others in the past.
These were pretty recent and were apparently for the Angel Abby show a few years ago. When I contacted them they were custom pieces by Rumble Monsters. I reached out to them for info as well to see if these were cast in that vinyl color or if they were custom painted but I couldn't really determine the answer. Though they were very nice in trying to provide info. I haven't seen these in person so was wondering if they were new casts from the old Charactics molds as Charactics has been long gone at that poing. Quite possible I got something confused there as well so would love more info if you have any.
@dokuroking Thanks for the explanation. I have the two figures in question, and they look the same as the prior Charactics releases (I haven't put them next to the prior releases to compare). They also seem to be cast in the clear vinyl color and not painted. There's been a few sets that came and went on M, so they didn't strike me as customs.
I received some messages from Rumble Monsters but coudln't really figure it out at the time. I was going to grab a set regardless but missed them. They are definitely charactics but maybe just a limited run for the show that Rumble Monsters released via Charactics? Not sure. Cool pieces. Please take some pics if you can
@dokuroking Hey Adam - I think the brown and blue Cyborg and Waruder were a Rumble Monsters release - if you look thru his IG u can see a post of them. They were available at the time from him (3000 yen I recall) but I didn't pick up a set - DUMB move. These days Im forgetting more than I remember, but I barely recall that Gold Waruder, and I definitely dont recall the tee. Those tees are AWESOME. I get the blue Waruder, but why a brown Henshin Cyborg? Any idea what that is tributing, if anything?
Could be this was a tribute to the bootleg maybe? (though that was more aged/off-yellow than the deep brown of the Charactics version). There were some pics (now gone) in this thread, but Adam - who I think snagged him - might be able to re-up some here as a reference.
My understanding was they were Ramune and Cola. Yeah I'm sad I passed on them but I couldn't figure them out as Charactics had been gone for quite a number of years so I thought just painted or dyed but it seems like not. My understanding is that they were "Ramune and Cola" and not the actual blue Waruder The Tshirts came with the gold sparkel Waruda. I seriously thought I had the rest of the sets... I'm getting old...
I put this in my other reply too but in my conversations via translators the colors are meant ro represent Ramune and Cola. The bootleg is one of my favorites amanzing they started off clear... but you won't see many or any of those hahaha.
