@rattanicus Up until I'd gotten it in my hands and unwrapped it, I'd never even seen a single page from it. Really love the layouts and photos throughout, but the opening Toho pages are just incredible.

    Welp, the 1st one came...

[IMG]Godzilla R/C 1st part by Doug Hardy, on Flickr

This is the DeAgostini Japan publication special for the 65th Anniversary of Godzilla. Each week they will be putting out an issue of this 'magazine' that includes 1 piece to make a 60cm tall 90cm long R/C Godzilla!

[IMG]Godzilla R/C 1st part by Doug Hardy, on Flickr

[IMG]Godzilla R/C 1st part by Doug Hardy, on Flickr

The catch is: this will be done over a period of 100 WEEKS, so the final piece should be released at the end of July 2020. This first issue is a special price of ¥480, other issues seem to be around ¥1500 more or less. That makes the final cost of this beast to be around $1400, not including shipping. But in the end I'm ok with that as I always wanted the 1980s R/C Godzilla but never got one. This one is going to be more modern in it's engineering as well.

    Anyway, more pics

I'm pretty sure the first issue having only the skin of the head (along with one part of the frame) at this cheap price is to lure people who don't intend to make the entire project as well. Here's some pics to show the scale.

The magazine includes a tri-fold poster to show how large it will be once completed:

And in this pic you can see the designers standing next to a completed version as well.

Also here's a video on the beast as well. Wish me luck on getting all 100 issues

My inner child just crapped his pants. Bandai did such an amazing job with this. Beyond my expectations. Until I get another cabinet, he'll stay here.

I hope the upcoming Vehicle Voltron is done with the same care.

The giant RC Godzilla saga continues! I just received issues 2 & 3.

Issue 2 has one of the feet.

It's huge, and will give you an idea how big this guy will be at the end.

Issue 3 has the lower jaw and tongue.

I've seen a couple people put the head together and one person said that somebody with small hands can use it as a puppet.

One of the issues illustrations and tales of the Big G

These are some of the accessories that will be in some of the issues so you can make the iconic publicity shot.

Also you'll be able to mail away for this backdrop as well. This is going to be a long 100 weeks!

Edit: apparently the next issue will start being boring by just having internal parts.

My main collection right now is MCU Legends. I got the Pepper Potts / Hot Rod / Mandarin 3-pack a couple days ago. Haven't opened it yet, as I have to figure out where I have space to display something. I'm keeping Mandarin & selling off the other two. I wish the Paltrow head didn't looks so dumb on a Rescue body.

Reunited and it feels so good.
This time, I figured out a way to keep them displayed.

Hot damn @Vombie, that is an impressive lot. How you can deal with these encased in a display case and not constantly wrastlin' each other out, I don't know, but I salute that restraint. Boy do I love me some flesh Kinnikuman; I've never tried (or even contemplated) being a completist by any standard on the line, but also happily grab whatever I can get when I come across them.

Oh no, I got this in one fell swoop. Bandai released a complete box set some years ago. I wouldn't have the patience or money to find all of these in minty shape a handful at a time as an adult decades later. So I'm very glad that bandai did this; I can just enjoy the designs without a lot of hassle.
