I recall it's from a series of figs representing different districts of Tokyo by assorted artists.
That one is a shopping old lady or something like that.
I think the series is a pretty cool idea but you need to live there to get it really.

Its the kind of figure that really makes me think i remember it from a manga I've read, but I'm completely blank on what that manga could be.

The idea/concept sounds very cool, but this thing is ugly on any level. I mean, boring monster-on-steroids sculpt aside, at least give it a cool paint job...

Now that the lottery is closed, can we talk about what an ugly unoriginal turd the new Izumonster/Unoblab toy is? Plus I know the "is Izu a Nazi fetishist?" conversation's happened a few times now, but when every new toy is either a Hitler portrait or packs a tasteful swastika, you have to wonder.

After seeing the part count and eyeballing the joints, I'm a bit annoyed that some nice gimmicks (admittedly taken from Zollmen, who I'm sure took them from others) are stuck inhabiting a lame toy.

I had to look this one up. Is that the company that produces those stupid teletubby looking figures? Really topical those... nothing about Izumonster or unoblab puts out interests me.

Someone should correct me with the full story, but I believe Unoblab was Kaiju Tan's partner, who sculpted the original Teletubby-type toys, which Tan then took credit for. Strikes me as pretty odd because I thought there was a rift there, but Izu's last collab was the Hitler pig with Tan.

Anyway, here's our guy, for anyone wondering

Apparently there are 16 parts in that thing, or something like that. I know there's a skull under that head and my guess is the torso telescopes, like Space Guy 56. Fun gimmicks that feel wasted on this design

No, he's just a BLEEP. Even with the 'Buddhist symbol' excuse, these arseholes are obviously just doing it to cause 'controversy' and hope to push prices up with their 'notoriety'. Immature BLEEPS is what they are.

Edit: Self censored, now a certain board member is out to get me. Can't be too careful.

Am I wrong in thinking 'Jah Dead' is straight up racist? Jah is almost exclusively associated with Marley/Reggae and black people. So is that some kind of racist reference? Coupled with the Swastika it makes me think this toy maker needs BLEEP.

It was Yokai Yu/Chen/co.oc29 that did the actual sculpting work for Kaiju Tan.

Honestly I'm surprised Tan is still around. It became very apparent very quickly he was milking people for as much as he can with his 10% price increases every single drop. This coupled with the lying about....well, everything.

Yes, I know many artists don't sculpt and pay sculptors, sometimes under an agreement that the sculptor is un-acknowledged in the whole process, which would be fine if that was the arrangement (Chen says it wasn't). The real slap in the face was lying about where the damn things are made carving it into the sculpt. If you're that brazen in lying to my face why should I give you a dollar, let alone the MANY dollars you're asking for trying to build hype?

Trash monsters have already been done so well, I don't know why you'd go there... and then come out with this. It seems to be lacking a harmonious vision, wanting to be too many things (a common trait with toys in this thread). It's not for me, but it is far from the worst here. And unfortunately that paint is really doing it no favours. A little more time in design stage, and maybe some feedback from other, could have brought out a cool toy here. But again, who listens to that advice from these new makers, right? And the price tag, well, ticks off one more mark to belong in this thread.

For clarity, its a custom and the retail is probably much lower (i dont actually know). It appears the 'Customiser' is from the Nagata school of ruining toys. He also attaches bits of metal with silly putty, paints over it and then sells these kindergarten projects at extortionate prices. Because its 'Art', right? But if they sell, who can blame him.

Oh, well that explains some of the parts then. But also sort of makes it worse than I thought. :? Someone's bag I am sure. And I agree, MK rarely [if ever] did a toy any good.

Of course that's not Vince, dude. That's John Cena. I don't know how we're able to see it, but whatever.

Mazinger breastplates coupled with a swastika has to be a combination no one in their right mind would have envisioned or asked for. It’s just...wow. What’s next? Ku Klux Kaiju?

Edit: disregard this post it is in fact the Buddhist Swastika.

Maybe it's a nouveau riche thing? Like golden end tables and white tiger print furniture?

for some reason, their forms make them look like they're made of thin hard plastic, to me.

They are. Made in China I believe. Felt them in person and they do not feel very quality.
