And what have I lied about exactly John? Just so you know - this exhibition is a group of friends who wanted to show their stuff in Brisbane - it came about over a dinner just in conversation. No motive like chasing hype or cash grabs or any of that bullshit. If you start posting bullshit and labelling me as a liar then we will have a big problem.
View this post on Instagram So all of this started because you had some issue with what you thought the "L" in Longneck looked like according to your busted eyes.. take a look at the comparison here and and let me know again what was the problem? Then you call me a liar for saying that Yoda supplied a logo.. if anybody around here had questions about your mental state then I think you've done a good job letting them know that you've gone off the deep end. The only 'L' I see around here is the loss you're having to eat right now @kichigai - don't call me a liar, especially when it comes to projects my friends and I have been working on. Do all of us a favour and go back to your hole and disappear again you delusional piece of dog shit.
Wowee zowee.. just quoting this so you can't delete it later and pretend like this never happened. Anyway - thanks for bumping my thread with your crazy ass bullshit and giving me a chuckle this morning. Good entertainment while waiting for Superfestival to kick off
You are welcome Glenn, good luck your show. I don't think anyone really believed us but it was fun while it lasted. Thanks!
For those of us curious about the event, here are some photos Glenn asked me to share. Looks like a strong showing from every artist involved. some cool pieces but a lack of variety imo. i also dont know retail prices besides NNN but it seems to only certain collectors’ benefit
I wouldn’t say so much a lack of variety as I would that it was intentionally kept to a more limited amount of artists. The last time I talked to Glenn about SVMII I think there was a lot of stress that came with the amount of artists they’d previously had, and it took up a ton of time. That was my personal perception, and I could be wrong. But it also seems like he’s got good, personal relationships with these artists, so that could’ve been a key role played in what was sent/made available. Yoda’s Gas Bawer with those Yusei arms is incredible, but the matching color palette on the Dempagon is wonderful. Overall, looked like a solid, tight knit show on a smaller scale.
that sounds legit! i really dont know australias toy scene and i just assumed the worst about only inviting hype. but all of that is trumped by personal relationships!
Glenn sent this over via the ‘Gram. Some video footage of the show. Less than two minutes, but a nice visual of the setup and vibe, with some neat detail stills towards the end.
I couldn't tell . . . did he fix the L of the Longneck logo on the opening sequence? It's the gift that keeps on giving!
I love that Yoda has been making so many of the Majins with squishy vinyl and putting squeakers in them. He brought a lot of nice stuff to the show. I’m digging that Garada K7 tribute Yusei Majin.
So I think this is the best place to put this since it appears to be related to this show. Yoda today posted a very public apology for (from what the translation said) signing the custom he did of a toy produced by NNN. I take it Shigaru was upset about this. Please correct me if I'm wrong about the whole scenario, I'm just trying to understand it better. While I think his apology is commendable, I don't really know why signing a custom would be a big deal as it clearly isn't his product. I mean they have production stamps. Again, I could have misread this post or it was lost in translation. Just trying to understand it all.
I think there was a lot of misinformation going on about this whole thing. The night of the event was super crazy (unfortunately I was doing sales and approaching people personally to take numbers etc so I couldn't document the actual crowd in photo/video) Shig and Yoda were having a great time joking around with people and making fun of each other's toys blah blah. I think all came down to an initial joke of Shig/Yoda signing the other person's toy and then another person saw it and asked for the same joke autograph and things took off from there. The whole signing thing happened on their second day in town and we were hanging out for 5 days, including three days after the event and everything was all good - those two were like brothers that had grown up and spent their whole lives together. It was a super fun few days of hanging out talking toys and eating too much food! View this post on Instagram
