Anybody here ever follow GrimJack? Any info on whatever happened to that title? Believe that it was Canadian.
I thought some SB'ers might appreciate this one i've just scanned from 'FOOM' 1978. An article on Marvel trying to publish their stuff in Japan . . . and a page about the Micronauts comic.
I'm just glad Chuck Wendig got fired from Marvel. If anyone read that guys tweets he sure as fuck deserves it for those crazy outburst.
I wanted this comic for some time. A good deal came up and so I bought this copy of Marvel Tales 105 recently.
That is a wonderful example, congratulations again Anthony on that lovely addition. I've been on a bit of a horror kick as well, though nothing in the league of that.
I'm usually not that much into horror comics but I just went through Lemire's Gideon Falls tpb - it's quite good!
'Tis that time of the year and the locusts have blessed us - Al Columbia is back: Supposedly there's only two paneled pages, but who cares when the art is as beautifully insane as this.
Sorry for the confusion, I meant to say there's only two pages with sequential "comic" art, because, you know, it's the "comics?" thread and all that. Doesn't matter to me either way, I'm a hardcore Columbia fanboy. Just write "Al Columbia" on that box of squirrel guts from last year and I'll give you $20 for it.
Oh... DUH. Gotcha. Why is it nearly half-past noon and I still have undercaffeinated brain fog? Mlllrrrrrghhh...
really cool comic anthology from strictly African artists. https://kugali-anthology.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
www.mycomicshop.com is a seriously dangerous website to visit on your weekend away from work! All of those comics I wanted as a kid but could never find.. plus some I never even knew about like Bernie Wrightson's Spider-Man one-shot! Can't wait to read that one
I randomly found, and remember really enjoying SAGA vol.1 (Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples) what seems like a long time ago, and today I found vols. 2,3,4 and 5 nice and cheap. I'm looking forward to re-reading vol.1 and diving into that world again. I've been on a serious manga kick lately so it will be nice to change it up and read something in full colour!
I was late to the party with Saga, but man did I ever have a good time catching up! They're taking a year or so off now, the hiatus began a few months ago with issue 56, so it's a great time to bring yourself up to speed. Have you picked up on Paper Girls yet, Joe? BKV's other current home run, this time with Cliff Chang on the less-is-more pen and inks. I mentioned it here a little over a year ago, and my esteem for the series has only grown since then. I was a little sad to learn that the upcoming arc will be the last one, but I'll take 30 issues of awesome over hundreds of meandering ones any day of the week. Have a look man, it's a true grinmaker.
Not yet, but its on my list. I browsed a few in Waterstones a while back and remember really liking the style of artwork and colour palette. Indeed, similarly i was disappointed when The Exterminators (Vertigo) was ended early but I was still very glad it had lasted that long at all. Another thing is when you're collecting a translated run and they stop publishing early, due to lack of sales presumably. Jeremiah by Hermann and Adele Blanc-sec by Tardi spring to mind. I'm still greatful they translated as much as they did, but as a fan its like being teased, you're just getting into it and they pull it out of your reach again!
that new Mr. Miracle trade is fucking fantastic! Gerard Way's run on Doom Patrol was important to me this past year. Darrington killed the art.
