Love the idea of this thread Right now, I have nothing to add. Congrats on 12 years, and amazing job with your mental health! You're doing great man!
Big fan of this as well. I finally graduated with my compsci degree and get a break to hang with my mom and my 8-year-old sister, who are visiting from Pakistan, before I go back to my job search
I was startin’ to think this thread was a bad idea. Hopefully more members feel like chimin’ in! @DrMadness You’ll have some good news/fortune coming soon, dude, I know it. Thanks so much for the encouragement! @zindabad That’s such awesome, awesome news, dude! Congratulations!!! And a really cool way to celebrate with your mom and sister comin’ in for a visit, too! Hope we hear of an update about job opportunities soon!
This FUCK YOU goes out to my old company. I was there 7 years and was very dedicated to their mission. The last 3 have been hell on earth. I could've sued the fuck out of them, but I am a better person than that. Yesterday, I got a new job!! Making a little more money and working with my old manager. Granted I have to go in 5 days per week, vs working from home 3 days per week but that's ok. To the place I worked before, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU. You're gonna miss my production and face. To my Old Manager...you fucking suck at this work. Your lack of leadership was clear with your "FYI" forwarding email ass. Couldn't manage a movie theater.. Good luck fuck sucks. Your punk asses will need to hire 3 people to replace me. And that is no bullshit. FUCK YOU.
@Kerk1 That is absolutely wonderful news! Congratulations!!! Had to have been an incredibly beautiful setting and mood for it to occur in Crete. Thank you for sharing that here!
I booked my flight for Japan in September. But the wonderful news, is, Mom had two pounds of tumors removed from her abdomen area, and her tests came back negative for anything cancerous. She was checked out and home in 23 hours.
@Russblue11 The 13th to the 25th. But I’ll be on tour with my friend’s band, so we won’t be in the same city twice. If we can manage to meet up and hang out at least even one day, that would be awesome!
@zindabad @DrMadness Thanks, fellas. Elated on both counts, but very much so more on my Mom’s health and speedy return home.
@Mr. Humphreys Thank you! She was very relieved, as was I. Still relieved, honestly. The initial news of tests being done was...scary, to say the least.
That is great news, mate. My mum went through similar tests a few years ago and she was absolutely bricking it - id never seen her like that before and it was very worrying for a while. Thank fuck the tests came back negative on all counts.
Score Tony! sometimes for lack of a better word... the blessings come in a disguise... and we have to wait it out to see the good. im happy for you!
Thanks, @The Moog. My Mom likes to tell me these things after they’re said and done, ‘cause she doesn’t want me panicking and worry, which I do enough of, but I wish she wouldn’t. I like to be there during the entire process of it for both information and mainly support. All in all, I am glad she’s healthy and happy. Great news that your mom garnished the same clean results, as well! To many more years!
Oh yes indeed, mate. So far both my parents are doing good in terms of longevity and health and I consider myself very lucky. Although, i think the non drinking, non smoking, health food, long distance cycling / very active lifestyle they've always pursued, is a big factor in that. Haha. In comparison, my closest brother and i are a right couple of druggy piss-heads . . . Manageable though
While unfortunate to hear, I do appreciate that mindset. Hopefully some good fortunate and/or happenings rain on your days soon!
The bar is set super high for this thread right now, lets open it up a little. (not to disregard the amazing fuck yeah posts so far) I recently moved into an apartment I really like in an area I've been trying to move into for almost a decade! I've also started taking better care of myself and am feeling better in the day to day for it. Fuck yeah!
@DrMadness Congrats on the new digs, Nick!!! Keepin’ tabs on yourself and your headspace clear is super important. I’ve been keepin’ up a little more on that myself lately, and it’s been pretty cool. I feel extremely guilty at times, putting myself before others, rare as that still is, but sometimes it’s for the better.
