Anyone else digging this? One of my favorite Mitsutaka Yokoyama designs. I think it's pretty beautiful!
I was excited by the release, I placed a pre-order immediately without realizing the sales were not made for US. My order was eventually cancelled.
You can leave the the sticker off the front of the figure right? It just throws the whole thing off to me but the robot itself is amazing.
Apparently it happened to me as some of you, I was ready to place my order when I realized that the pre-order is only for Japan and Hong Kong. It is an excellent piece and also come with extra accessories , there are already some resale in YJP but at double the original price...So I think I'll have to wait for a while to catch one of this.
Does anyone else find it weird that Mandarake is selling their own Giant Poseidon now (original price 38000 yen) for the crazy flipped price of 150000 yen on their own site? That's what I keep seeing with this yellow version. Wow thats some balls, if someone released something here on their site then weeks later charged over 3x that amount for the same thing the pitchforks would be out for sure.
Well they're opened, so probably not new stock. Seems like they are buying them back from someone and reselling. Gee, at those prices, you would think they would just reserve some of their stock and 'find' it months later...
Putting stock aside to "find" in the future would be overtly dishonest and a poor business model. Buying stock, marking it up and making money is par for course with any retail oriented venture. The price increase is the only thing that bugs me since it is a recent item. However, for every overpriced item there are fair priced other items. I got a TE H-Ghost last year off Mandarake for approx. $68 and it was a steal to me. I would have paid more so it was nice to get it for that. The resale price of Giant Poseidon seems stiff and I kinda doubt it will sell but who knows. At least the original retail was OK, all things considered.
No shit Sherlock! I think @akum6n was simply speculating how easy it 'could' be. Whilst not 'dishonest' . . . Mandrake's business model does (and has) allowed for a whole host of shenanigans!
Andy, I was not implying anything toward what was said towards him. I totally get what he said and why. I also get what you are saying and you are wasting time yet again. Sticks and Stones. The retail on this giant doll could have been set much higher. They made a truly great toy and offered it for a fair price when sold originally at retail. I am sure others would also love to see more characters designed by Mitsutaka Yokoyama get this same treatment. The box is as amazing as the doll and making boxes like that cost a fortune.
Maybe I'm imagining it but I could of swore I saw another yellow version listed at 150000 yen that said sold out earlier this morning.
You are not imagining it. I was up extremely early and it was available. Then when I checked it had sold and now there is another one up for sales.
@chimply.kaiju I wonder it was just a re-list error or Mandarake is hyping their own sales to make it seem like big ticket items are going for those prices lol. Probably the former.
