I'm honestly really disappointed in the update. Gen 2 babies in eggs? Great, let me go walking in freezing weather with my one incubator. No thanks. Pikachu in a Santa hat? Okay, that's pretty neat I guess, but what about a bonus? Niantic got me so excited for a "big announcement" and failed to deliver.
Got a brand spankin' new iPod Touch for Christmas so I'm finally able to play GO on my own time! Granted the whole "No GPS" thing is kind of a pain but it does actually work.
New free-1-time-use-incubator-a-day event is amazing. I really hope they do this more often. Eggs are where I get 90% of my good IV Pokémon from, so the more incubators the better. They're so damn expensive to buy with coins. FYI, if you're unaware of the event, the first stop you spin each day for the next week gives a free 1 time use incubator. Then there will be increased starter spawn chance!
I caught 5 holiday Pikachus today as well as 2 200+ CP Tauros' and I'm only level 5. :O GIMME DA LOOT GIMME DA LOOT. bwoop bwoop
Really hope the increased starters Xmas promotion is the same as the increased ghost Halloween promotion. AKA Charmanders/Bulbasaurs/Squirtles absolutely errywhere. There's already Squirtles all over my area, as it's a water biome. Will be bummed if the promotion just increases the number of Squirtles by me, and continues with zero Charmanders. Only ever seen one single Charmander in my immediate area on my nearby, but couldn't find him.
Took my kids downtown tonight staying up for the new year, we literally caught a couple hundred starters between us. We also caught evolutions of the starters as well, blastoise venausaur ECT. Twas fun, happy new year!
Got my second 10k baby, the Electabuzz one. Really want to hatch a bunch of Togepis out of 5ks so I can evolve one, but haven't even hatched one yet. Some people getting real mad at hatching all crap and no babies, but I get it. Hatching 20 crap for every baby too, but thems the breaks. The regionals are whats killing me. How about a rotation already? Sorry I can't manage a round the World vacation.
got 5 out of 7 of the babies, but I'm still really after Chansey, Lapras, Hitmonlee and that pterodactyl to finish the regional G1 pokedex. All from 10k eggs, and presumably from a different Biome.
I keep switching this damn game on even though I know for a fact I don't have any pokeballs. Why do I keep doing this to myself? :'(
Can't hatch a Togepi to save my life. Have all the other babies except him, and 5k eggs are the large majority of what I hatch.
Still lacking a Lapras, Muk and Aerodactyl to finish my dex ;-; Walking Grimer now and I think I can get the Aerodactyl locally, but that Lapras is just never going to appear until I get to a better city for them, they just don't exist here. Hatched all babies except for Magby >_>
Keep catching Pidgey in Pidgey spawns. That's what I did, and suddenly the Pokedex entry popped up. I was going nuts, haha!
Grats!! I have yet to hatch a baby Pokémon, but then again I haven't left the house a lot lately... too cold. I think I caught my Ditto in a parking lot, if I remember correctly!
If you're not having any luck hatching a Togepi like I was, try finding a Jigglypuff/Clefairy nest with Pokéstops and loading up on 5k eggs while there. Eggs from nests are more likely to be the same type as whatever is currently occupying said nest. There are no other fairy types that hatch from 5k eggs, so chances for Togepi rise way up from it's otherwise horrid hatch rate. Did this myself, and hatched the two I was after in less than a week. Biggest dick punch was assigning one as my buddy only to realize it's 5k per candy even though it comes from a 5k egg.
