It's pretty sad and fucked up to see an SB member AND toy maker flipping the blue zug on ebay: @ribbon controller
Or I guess it's his "boo" selling it technically, its fucked up either way

just checked ebay for all the mvh listings that ended. its pretty surprising to see how many pieces being flipped as opposed to what it was just a few months ago

It's not unusual honesty. I try to watch eBay as well as yahoo and mandarake to see if I can figure out who is who to try my best to slow down flipping. What's on eBay ebbs and flows and compared to other artist it's the usual few pieces. Usually larger runs and the such.

Yep, I don't think the amount of MVH being flipped is any different from any other time. Either way, it still sucks to see these toys being flipped. Especially disappointed to hear that an SB member may be flipping a piece, if what @MonstaIslandCzar said is true. Even when I desperately needed vet bill funds, I offered my toys for a FAIR price on SB first, and put the unsold pieces up on eBay later... It's common courtesy to give your fellow collectors a chance first.

You know what Maddie you did. I have had a few amazing people hook me up lately you were one. @useless toys toys did something for me I'll never forget. I'm just so thankful. These are the good people in the world. I think we all get offended by flipping in this hobby because even though we know there are flippers at the car lot, the realty office, and the department store, in life-we would like to keep profit mongers out of our art thank you very much. If you wanna make money go buy a house and flip it for $40,000 don't take extremely rare art from others, and for what profit, $200? or less? I just don't get it. Find some other hobby to make extra cash, and enjoy looking at your toys! If you decide to sell it, see who's looking or offer it at a fair price. You know, courtesy. It's pretty simple. You know what feels better than money? A crazy little thing called Love....

Yeah I have been holding out hope for MVH pieces and following those auctions. Not one DX has sold for less than $400, some as High as $600. Toxigons over $1,200 on average. (Kumons go for over $200 on ebay regularly, most auctions ending well over that.) Needless to say I have landed not one. I almost got a Doji San for around $100. But got outbid in the last seconds. It's just Nucking Futs out there right now for MVH. Vinyl Crack.

It's nuttier than squirrel shit out there in the aftermarket. Just keep being kind and generous to others and the karma will work itself back. That's how I scored a Blobpus Six-Eyed Ghoul recently less than half of what they are selling for on eBay. I hooked up a fellow SBer when funds were tight and I had some spare cash so I bought a toy for him and held it for a few months until he got funding. We were talking toys and I told him some stuff I was hunting for, he put the word out, and now I got 1 more piece in my shelf and so does he.

It all works out in the end. Just remember that you can only have 1 #1 wish list toy at a time. If you treat everything like a grail you'll constantly end up disappointed. Hell, I've been an MVH fan for about a year and a half now and I think I've entered maybe 3 lottos.

Yeah man I have really gotten a handle on how limited this stuff is. I have talked to the artists and most of them are family men who do this shit out of their garage. Cutting flashing, Painting, bagging all by hand, and waiting on factories for vinyl. It's extremely niche and limited. They are often working other jobs and are doing all they can as a one man band. Therefore You can't want it all, you just can't. Even if they wanted to hook you up they may not have the means or the time. Savors the favors and pay them forward man, cuz yeah....Karma is real, and it's your only hope in this hobby. Other than Moving to Connecticut.

That must suck to see so much of, Rich. I just experienced my first of this last week. Fingering the culprit was nothing short of luck tho; eBay works to their advantage as they can cloak about all of their personal information.

Hate that someone who wanted her missed out, but the seller's on Lulubell's "do not sell to" list now, so that's 1 down.

I hope it was worth it, Michael Kormos.

I have all of his information from the lottery entry if any store / maker wants to add him to their list.

Can we talk about the meats zug that was just added to Ebay and is already up to 350 bucks. This has to be fake. You could of just bought this for 200.

That's the same seller that had a Yabanjin for something, like, $1,300 and has a Dieceratops for $1,900. I'd love to know who this clown is.

Don't know what's worse the auction or the people buying. This was an open order run, I figured there would be no flipping. Never fails...

It has to be fake bids. How do u not have 200 bucks a month ago but have 350 now? I believe we are better than this.

Yeah your probably right. You'll know it's a scam if it gets cancelled at the last moment with some high bid, than relisted the next day with the highest last bid as the buy it now.

I swear these eBay flippers think no one pays attention to their scheme.

    I
I have sold a toy a few times on ebay when money was very tight.. Always been a big collector and sold many here on boards to members for for great deals.. I live in a town that was heavily hit by floods and have been helping family and friends..if it means selling a toy to some wealthy person who can help make life easier by all means I will do it again.. They are just plastic toys after all .. Easy to judge when you arent the one on hard times..ie unemployed /homeless.. If you know me in real life you know im no prick who tries to make quick bucks of other folks.. I love toy collecting but a roof over my family or friends homes and food in their mouths is way more important to me..

And yet the black moon was one that had to be kept. Yet you posted on IG super stoked about your 2 new trolls, knowing this one was on ebay already. I personally know you've did it before. you sold one of the DC13 battle set on the bay already. Unemployed/homeless yet had over $500 for 2 pieces of plastic toys... Priorities... however if upon purchase and you don't see art, you see $1500-2k for your $500 investment... well then...

MVH... Break in case of Emergency.

The fact that you are a independent toy maker. Yet don't see the crack in the moral fiber of the situation. its pretty sad. I guess maybe because Gero really never got off the ground like you had hoped, that you don't understand it. I mean a ebay lot of 18 went for what. $270. $15 a piece. I feel bad for that seller. Take ebays cut out, they lost royally. The funny part is you could of probably back door'd the item and no one would of known of your slimy move. Instead you listed on ebay to make sure to rub out every last red cent you could of out of the sculpt. My question like i said on IG... Why hide it? Ebay handle change. SHIPS FROM Los Angeles, when really it is LA, not L.A (that was a good one I must add) I do wonder if you did get in on the lulu bell pre order. If so, shit times is hard son, but i only got a few days to pre order them meats...

The floods is a horrible thing. I have talked to a few members as well as friends from LA, it sucks. you've did this before though, So not quite sure if i'm going to let the "Rich is my personal FEMA" card slide. Just my take on it though. You are only a true part of the community when you try to do things to contribute and help that said community.

    So many questions

    Why not:

Ask the community - the one that surely supported you and helped you become a toy maker - for help instead of shitting on it?

Organize a raffle on SB (there's one happening right now )

Ask artists for help or donations and hold an auction (fellow SBers have had luck doing just that for great causes)

Make some of your own art and raffle/auction it off

Contact Rich or other artists and ask them to hold a charity auction (they are actually pretty good dudes ;))

Simply ask this community for donations :D

Sell more of your own collection  (as eckotyper pointed out, you still have the other zug)

I'm sure there's other ideas out there. If your motives were so just, why all of the measures to hide them, as eckotyper pointed out?!

What about the cinema monster

Why not redeem yourself now by picking one of the above options for the finkshits you have listed?!?

What's done is done, and you clearly are willing to justify it. Just go gracefully into the night and realize that you've burned several bridges making poor decisions. Please don't continue to try getting sympathy or guilt us by speaking of homeless friends and flood victims. Trying any of the above options and asking for help with transparency would have avoided this whole bullshit and likely raised more money. I believe you gave the money to friends in need, but that was your choice. I don't really care what people use the money for when they are sneakily flipping toys the day they arrived in the mail. It's still flipping. Cieromuco tried the same thing after flipping kumons and clearly selling raffle winnings from the last suicide raffle, but at least he disappeared and realized he is not longer a part of this community.

Back to toxigons and trolls :dam:

Then stop buying them and invest in the stock market. If you don't care about the intrinsic value in something, that's fine, just don't talk about how happy you are to receive a toy today and then sell it at a massive profit tomorrow, expecting no shit.

Does Rich need to start doing credit checks or something? I'm so sick of hearing about how people had $300 yesterday to buy a toy and magically don't have a single nickel in an emergency fund. If you're telling the truth, your financial priorities are FUCKED. End of sentence.

    See above.

And let me wrap this up with an example you may appreciate.

I rarely enter MVH lottos. I've never won one. I entered for the Black Moon Zug and lost. You won. The end result is a toy that would still be in my display case today isn't (no biggie since I got the Meat version and I'll send him off for a custom paint job anyway) and instead you have a few hundred bucks in your pocket while a bunch of people are pissed at you including the person who made the thing in the first place. I doubt when Rich was spraying paint wearing a breathing mask he thought "I hope someone can sell this at a huge markup to a rich guy so I can never see the money while more appreciative fans are shit outta luck".

Justify it all you want, but don't expect it to NOT blow up in your face.
