I have a weird thing with Elegab. I have a couple minis from them I love and I like those two at the top of the last page, but I haven't yet seen a full size sculpt of theirs that I really like. I love the detail and willful strangeness and I do like weird stuff (I have way more Grody Shogun in my collection than anything else, for instance). But, I keep waiting for them to make "the piece" I need to own. Because, overall, I do like what they do, only just from a distance, I guess.
The prices on those blanks are insanely low considering the size of those pieces. Elegab sure knows how to please their fans! That being said, I feel the same way... I like Elegab, but not enough to buy. I have a lot of respect for him though. So many crazy and whimsical sculpts, but nothing that really speaks to me just yet.
Congrats to all who picked something up! It's been a while since the last unpainted festival and sadly I couldn't remember how to check out fast enough. If anyone wound up with an extra unpainted red please let me know!
The colours on that King Smog! I think that is my favourite version to date, I really love it. Someone finally did a fantastic toy in [nearly] that wonderful waxy green vinyl I have been asking for. Really, just two very impressive toys, Elegab has done wonders yet again. This is going to be a fantastic release, good luck to everyone in the lottery!
It is sad. Love the new sculpt and that new mini fly boy. I wonder why Nari-san doesn't just salvage parts of the figure for future use? Create a new back in replacement of the disc?
Same here. If anyone understands what the problem is (the additional "zoomed" pictures and automatic translations don't tell anything to me), I'd be interested in reading.
To my understanding the disc part isn't forming correctly when being pulled from the cast. My guess is probably that many are not passable and that many being pulled are thinning or collapsing.
Considering the shape, it should indeed be quite thick to keep a coherent form after being heated to fit. Anyway I hope the basic Kappa without the saucer will be kept for another monster, as I know I won't be able to get one of those.
It's either that or too many bubbles or its tearing as its being pulled. That was happening to Mr. Yamomark's Tengu girl sculpt, which he may have had to retire already. Too many bad pulls.
So bummed to hear about this, finally an Elegab toy I would want a couple of. So that is the only colorway being made?
I just got the Puppet Seijin from the lottery a few months back (thanks, Vombie!) and wow this guy is great! He really looks like a 70s Ultra Kaiju down to the zipper seam on his back. I'm looking forward to more from this maker for sure
