Hi-being a photo app, this lends itself well to toy collectors, so i thought I'd see if any of you use it.

I know a few of you are on instagram, but I can't seem to find a lot of interesting people to follow (or to follow me).

I'd like to have it be more interactive. If you're on there, check me out I'm spazzaferro

Actually can someone who uses this explain the advantage? I mean, what's the difference between it and things like flickr, photobucket, picplz, or all the other pic sites? What makes it unique? Is it just an easier interface? I'm just sick of signing up for different programs/apps/sites that do the same stuff and don't want to add another to the list if I'm never going to use it. I just notice a lot of people DO but if I have a flickr and other apps for pics, why this over those? Thanks!

I think it's also the social network aspect of it.
I'm with you on not wanting to sign up for services/apps.

Sorry for the thread derail missy.

    its fine.

i like the analog feel to it, i like the instant interface, and the ability to quickly post to twitter, facebook and flickr with one motion.

Missy...are you going to make me jealous and head to Portland for BlytheCon? (yes...thread derailment but at least it is for something worth it...hahaha)

I like it; pretty simple to use. The instant interface is a nice touch.

i just signed up as my favorite part of "social media" is the pictures that people post randomly. just cool to see awesome stuff on the go. flickr is nice when i am at home, but twitpic, yfrog, etc is a lot easier for me on my phone. so don't mind me as i will probably follow everyone but rarely take pictures as i always forget about it. name on it is hmni_gmoney

I'd have to agree with the oversaturation at this point. This whole sharing thing is getting a bit out of hand; better to have just one or a few decent options and people can choose from them (hopefully this is what will be the outcome soon). And, as I am yet without a cell phone, I'll probably take a pass on this one....later perhaps

If you want a photo editor, you can grab the Adobe one. It's not bad. You can adjust exposure, saturation, contrast, add boarders, and a few other things. I tried instagram. So far...meh.

    Is that freeware Bert?

If so, how big is it, and does it store pics or it's just an editor?
Also, where do I get it?
(Yeah, I know ... "From Adobe, duh!" But link plox? :) )

Long time user, but I'm fed up with Photobucket.

the one I have is an iPhone app...which is what I thought started this. I haven't done a search for a PC/Mac program. Instead, I use a browser based app. It's kinda like using an old version of Photoshop...like when it was sold as a separate product. I think it's like using PS6 but I could be wrong.

I know some people here use Gimp but that's exactly what it feels like. A Gimpy-ass version of Photoshop that is slow as hell. There is a free, web version of PS Express at http://www.photoshop.com/ with idiot proof editing tools.

Lol, I have gimp (wanted to try making my own gifs)
but the interface was so scary I never took the time to figure out how it worked.

PS Express sounds nice, being as I are an idort.
    Thanks!!! :D

For the tech-savvy but broke, I've seen torrents of almost all of Adobe's products.
But, of course, you didn't read that here. 8)

PS Express is really and editing tool. You won't be able to draw/paint stuff with it. The interface with Gimp is similar to PS but they tweaked it so it's not exactly the same...and that drives me nuts. The one problem with browser based stuff is if you have a bunch of tabs open at the same time you're editing. It might not be noticeable with 4-5 tabs open depending on your computer. PS Express does store in cloud format but I haven't seen any resizing options for posting images to forums...and our current forum does not support image resizing in the tags (weaksauce!!...yes, I said weaksauce).

I wasn't sold on it initially either. I thought it was "just another one of those things" and no different than hipstamatic or any of that other stuff. Granted, I don't use all that stuff, just a few select things.

However, I do have to admit after signing up, I'm loving it.

It's like totally visual social-networking for somewhat anti-social types like me.

You load the feed up and get lots of cool photos of fun stuff (if you follow cool people). Double tap to like them or you can leave a short comment. And you don't have to read any of those stupid words that people are always using 8)

It's basically like Twitter with all photos. Perfect for some quick fun on the go on your phone. I can check several times a day whenever I need a toy fix.

Since I signed up for Twitter but never tweet, you can follow me on this thing @skylargahagan if you want to see what I'm really up to or what's going on inside my head (visually, anyway).

So how similar or different is it from Tumblr? I kinda think of Tumblr as a more visual twitter. Not trying to derail, and yes it's totally not a big deal to sign up just to check it out, but I'm just being curious before I sign up.

Gotcha. I can't really say from experience, as I've never used Tumblr, but I kind of gathered that that was more like a full blog with social networking capabitilies. Like a blog and FB/Twitter combined. You have your page where you can post content and you can follow others where their posts then show up in your feed. Correct?

It's probably very similar, truthfully, but this is just specifically phone based. The reason that's nice is that it's an all-in-one kinda deal - take the photo with the camera, apply whatever filter if you want, add a short comment, post. Done.

I mean, c'mon, we all know that all these things are all the same shit. Just sign up already! :D
