Yeah, they're a bit more obscure. Chiltern Toys ended up becoming part of Chad Valley (after briefly being part of Dunbee Combex). I don't think they made a huge amount of squeakers, but the ones that do pop up are usually nice.

    Love it!

I wish there were more rhino squeaks out there because that is my true favorite animal but elephants are close

Indeed, now you mention it. I don't think I've ever seen a Rhino squeaker ...

Considered too difficult to cute-up for the kids, maybe? Too mean looking? Best to stick with woodland creatures, domestic pets, circus animals ...

Combex Creations. Another rare one from the 4.5" range they did (and a very unusual vinyl colour). These smaller ones are always very rigid, like the vinyl has hardened over the years, which is never the case with their bigger sculpts. I'm wondering if its because there's less hollow space inside, or maybe the vinyl is thicker on these smaller ones ...

5" high coin bank (money box) by Combex Creations. Its made of the same vinyl as their squeakers and using the same paint. Another Combex toy i've never seen before! ... its a lovely chunky slab of vinyl.

Electronic Anpanman, his head moves to match what he's saying. It's weirdly life-like.

@The Moog That monkey is called Sun WuKong, the main character in a 16th century Chinese novel, Journey to the West. This toy's design is based on an old Chinese animation movie inspired by that novel. The words on the base says "Shanghai animated film studio", the animation movie's production company. I never saw this toy before, it is really cute!

Thanks for the info ... its nice to know these things.

I'm familiar with Journey to the West through the TV show 'Monkey' when I was a kid and 'New Legends of Monkey' more recently. Plus the Manga 'Dragon Ball' and the graphic novel 'American Born Chinese' by Gene Luen Yang, which also features the Monkey King ...

Cool, i cant believe i didn't notice the magical staff on that monkey toy i found. I just thought it was a flag pole or something, i didn't make the connection. He's also wearing what looks like a skirt to me, which threw me too ....

Nice. The caterpillar looks very similar to an old toy line called 'Glo Worms'.
