I think the price is because it seems to be a mould of an original piece of art of his. So I guess if an original cost quite a fair bit, then a limited reproduction would still be pretty pricey. The Nag stuff ads nothing to it in my opinion and just takes the edge off what is. Interesting to see how materiality changes structure and colour though. I quite like the wood version, but in plastic it loses texture and depth.

I could make the point that every one of our toys is a mould of an original art piece; the master sculpt just isn't advertised as such. Smoke and mirrors imo, but better that guys with Nag money get caught up in this than anything else.

Not going to lie, I love the dude at the bottom as a piece of art. Is that all made of cardboard?
The things in the above photo, not so much. I’m just so tired of looking at man nips and teeny dicks.

Also please tell me I wasn’t the only one that saw that Kumon on the bay sell for only $52 because Tru Slithers customized it

Oh, I can appreciate plenty of work has gone into it and its not without merit, but it looks fugly to me. The heads are too big for the body and it looks unbalanced and awkward. Maybe changing the micro dick to a giant shlong would of addressed that issue ;)

As for the Kumon custom, no I didn't see that. I can imagine how shitty it was if it only sold for $52. Possibly a record low for a Kumon?!

    Edit:
Yep, not an abomination of a custom but pretty shitty. If it was originally a blank it should of stayed a blank IMO.

It’s the shitty glitter that makes it awful to me. Glitter in vinyl? Love it. Glitter on vinyl? No thanks, it looks like a child’s painting project.

Yeah, it looks like someone trying really hard, but ultimately their effort only succeeds in ruining the toy. You can guarantee whatever it was before, it looked better than that sloppy shite. It even looks sticky!

Maybe the buyer will try to strip the paint off ...

I think the toy would dissolve before the Crayola glitter glop would.

Seen a couple recently, including from Science Patrols. Plus the guts Brutal A from HS appears to be chromed. Maybe there's a better process for it now?

Anyway I still don't like it, fingerprint magnets.

Chrome is the new black. Dehara, Paul Kaiju, Science Patrol, Chokehazrd and Mutant Vinyl Hardcore all have upcoming or recently released toys. I like these but if you hate gold/chrome...

Chrome will be the new marble.
It comes down to whatever the factory is getting in in terms of tech.

Like UV and heat Changingn colors

or flock. remember how mind blowing that was when it came out circa early 2000s?

Chrome has been around forever Secret Base used it all the time. I actually like the look of it, but it does not age well, the Chrome Secret Base releases aged terribly, it doesn’t let the vinyl degas, and all the gas bubbles up under the chrome. Unless they have changed the formulartion. Izumonster did some spray chrome Hedorahs with some clear colored paint on top that were pretty cool. I don’t know if spray chrome holds up better in the long run vs whatever chrome plating the factory does. I tried some of the culture hustle mirror paint that achieves an indentical chrome finish but it didn’t cure, even with a coat of primer applied before.
